今期居屋自農曆新年後暫停揀樓程序，截至1月24日，房委會共邀請4371名申請者揀樓，出席率約七成，暫時售出2726伙單位，佔總單位量的55%，綠表買家佔約四成。
2008年金融海嘯 綠表買家僅三成
翻查居屋過往的銷售紀錄，在2007年金融海嘯後，房委會在2008年推出「出售剩餘居屋單的第四期計劃」，推售共3221伙單位。不過，當時僅約售出六成單位，而綠表申請者只佔約三成。根據運輸及房屋局當年的文件，局方認為銷售結果較前三期差，反映受金融海嘯影響，市民在申請及選購居屋單位有較多考慮。
至於遠至1997年經歷金融風暴後，其後在1998年居屋計劃同樣出現撻訂潮，當中在富榮花園更有多達一半單位撻訂，房委會需要減價出售。
公屋聯會：綠表買家更審慎
公屋聯會總幹事招國偉指，因應疫情影響，居屋準買家均會較審慎地選購單位，當中綠表申請者的經濟考慮會更多。此外，加上部分熱門的屋苑及大單位已賣出，他估計恢復揀樓後，出席率或維持在五至六成的水平，但會陸續出現撻訂個案，銷售期會更長。他說，不希望政府因此減少居屋供應，「唔可以重蹈03年的教訓，」建議一旦出現「冧市」情況，政府可減價銷售單位。
而原定在年中推售的新一期綠置居，招國偉預料將會延遲到下半年，加上經濟轉差導致樓市波動，料綠置居的折扣率將由現時的四九折上調至超過五折。
